If you love them as much as we do, its important to know where the best bakeries on the Sunshine Coast are. Which is why we have compiled this list for you.
Tucked away in the Seaforth Resort on Alexandria Parade, La Petit Souris is a contemporary French patisserie that crafts mouthwatering treats, which are baked every day in-house. Well known locally for serving some of the best sausage rolls and quiche you can buy on the Sunshine Coast, this exquisite bakery also offers an incredible range of sweet treats, including its matcha and red bean sponge rolls and Ceylon tea mousse cakes.
An eclectic café meets bake house in Maroochydore, Harvest Breads & Café is located on the ground floor of the iconic Kon Tiki building. Priding themselves on offering the best quality baked goods on the Sunshine Coast, they offer a fabulous range of gluten free, vegetarian and other bakery products made by their highly skilled in-house team. Their coffee, which is kind of coolly called ‘the cat’s pyjamas’ is outstanding too.
The Van Wegens Continental Bakery is an institution on the Sunshine Coast. It’s a little bit away from The Esplanade in Mooloolaba, but it is definitely worth the effort to track it down, not least for its delicious range of 11 different types of organic sour doughs. All of which are expertly made with Pink Himalayan Crystal Salt, by Dane, a third generation baker, who makes everyone onsite from scratch.
Mudjimba has one of the best beaches on the Sunshine Coast, and it also has one of the best bakeries too in the form of the Sunrise Mudjimba Bakery. Located on the main Esplanade this charming venue presents a fabulous range of sausage rolls, pies, pastries, slices and cakes. They also do excellent sandwiches and wraps too, and for those who love chocolate or carrot cake you can even buy it by the slice!
Bakeries are not often that kind to people who have a gluten intolerance, but thankfully the team at Soul Kitchen have got your backs. A popular gluten free bakery in Buderim, they serve up a delicious range of pies, pasties, sweets and treats, as well as excellent organic fair trade coffee too. Boasting a funky interior and excellent service, they are perhaps best known for their amazing range of cakes.
